摘要:Photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS) has become a standard technique for particle sizing, in which autocorrelation function estimation play a key role. Autocorrelation function can be estimated by hardware method or software method. The former need the correlator and can do real-time processing. The latter, as an off-line method, can be completed in program after sampling. Whether used by hardware or software, it is of importance to reduce bias effectively in particle sizing system. Accurate particle size measurements are possible only when the autocorrelation function is of high quality. Based on the character of software correlation, two measures, subtracted average from the signal and adopted non-bias estimation, were taken in this paper to improve the quality of software estimation of autocorrelation function. The results of our study indicate that the better measuring result can be made when using the software method.
