When the bubbles enters into the boundary layer, the bubbles are expected to move toward the solidifying interface by the surface tension gradient along the bubble surface. This phenomenon is regarded to be a kind of the Marangoni effect in a broad sense and was found experimentally under 1G condition by Wang and Mukai.
